Louisa Gibson. End Table. January 29th , 2018.
When using round end tables, try to think out of the box. Theres not really much difference between end tables, accent tables and nightstands, so if you cant find a style you like in one section of an online or brick and mortar store, check in some of these related categories. Todays designs allow you to mix and match concepts, putting what was once an end table next to the bed or for use in a guest room as a display stand. This is a terrific idea, by the way. Whenever you get new round end tables for the living room, you can re purpose the old ones in other rooms, adding a new table to your master, a kids room or even a bathroom. Not only a great use of your old furniture, but very Eco-friendly too.
Are you a fan of antiques or does your taste run more modern? Many antique pieces are lovely and functional, and bring a rustic look to the room. With the aged appearance of the finish, antique styles lend a handcrafted grace and can be used as a focal point in the room. For a more modern décor, glass topped tables may enhance the overall style in the room. Which room will host the end table? For use in bedrooms, end tables can be used as decorative accents. A table lamp, a handcrafted lacy doily, and perhaps some framed photographs or artwork placed creatively on a round pedestal end table can dress up a blank wall or an empty corner.
Somewhere along the line, however, everything became more complex. Some blame the conversation pit era; that crafty sofa that didnt really have an end. Venerable end tables simply had nowhere to go. Coffee tables were suddenly on their own, placed in the center of the pit so visitors had a place to put their drinks while they, well, conversed. Today, end tables have made a comeback. No longer sold automatically in pairs with a coffee table, they have struck out on their own, joined by accent tables, occasional tables, drum tables, side tables... the list goes on and on and on.
While styles and tastes have changed over the years, nesting tables have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. As manufacturers have developed new takes on this classic, new nesting end tables are finding their way back on the market in large numbers. In fact, there are literally hundreds of designs to choose from when it comes to nesting tables, from the classic look of the 1930s to rustic designs, exotic models, eclectic designs and, of course, traditional, contemporary and even modern versions. Theres literally a style to match every home, and thats not even counting the finishes or materials, whether its wood, metal, marble, glass or a mix. As you probably know, end tables are highly desirable pieces of furniture to have in your living room, great room or family room. But they usually have a bit of wasted space. Some models may offer a shelf on the bottom, but not much else. With nested end tables, you gain a lot of extra real estate for entertaining. As more people arrive and more potluck dishes crowd your table, you can simply pull out another one of the nesting end tables and use it for the overflow.
When selecting end tables of metal, be sure you shop with a reputable seller who handles quality products. There may be a reason why you to such a good deal on a metal table. The metal welds may be inferior, the fit may not be good between the different pieces and the materials themselves may not be high quality, causing the finish to flake off within months of your purchase. As with any piece of furniture, end tables are a major investment and you want to make sure that you are getting top quality for the budget you have available. You certainly dont want to fall in love with a set of end tables that are the perfect fit for your room, only to have them fall apart on you.
